Second, whether you are more likely to feel nausea on dual GIP and GLP-1 medication, so your start can be paced for you.

Your first formal follow-up session with your naturopathic doctor to manage side effects, adjust nutrition and supplements, and protect muscle.

Progress checkpoint with your naturopathic doctor as your care plan continues, with physician touch base whenever medically required.

MONTH 6

Targeted retesting + second strategy session for 30 minutes with physician and naturopathic doctor; results reviewed, health action plan updated, and the second half planned.

MONTH 8

Progress checkpoint with your naturopathic doctor as metabolism changes. Additional naturopathic doctor follow-up available as an add-on.

What is Decode to Recode?

Decode to Recode® is a physician-led, genetics-guided metabolic program for anyone using or considering the new weight-loss medications. We test how your body responds, a physician reviews your results, and you get a plan built around your biology.

How do genetics help?

Your genetics influence how you respond to these medications. We read a set of response markers so your physician can tailor the approach to your biology rather than apply one protocol to everyone.

Do I have to be on the medication already?

No, and it works either way. If you are considering these medications, your testing tells you how you are likely to respond before your first dose. If you are already on them, it tells your clinician what your biology is doing now, which is what nobody collected before you started.

Do you prescribe the medication?

Yes, when it is appropriate. A physician reviews your intake, your genetics, and your bloodwork in the Recode programs, then decides whether a prescription is necessary and safe for you. If it is not, we say so.

Do I lose muscle on these medications?

It is a real risk. Rapid weight loss can take muscle along with fat, and muscle is what keeps your metabolism strong. That is why we measure and protect lean mass throughout, so you hold on to the muscle that keeps your metabolism working.

Why does the weight come back after people stop?

Because most programs stop at the prescription and never plan for coming off it. We build the plan for holding your results from the start, so stopping is a planned step, not a cliff.

How is this different from an online prescription service?

A physician reviews your genetics, and in the Recode programs your bloodwork, before anything is prescribed. We do not prescribe from a photo or a form. You get a real clinical relationship.

Can I start with Decode and move up later?

Each option is a complete program on its own, and there is no upgrade path currently. Recode Ultra uses a deeper genetics panel and wider bloodwork, so it is a separate enrolment rather than an addition to what you have already done.

Where can I do this?

The Decode genetics offering is available across Canada and the kit ships to you. Recode and Recode Ultra programs are currently available in Ontario only.

How long until I get my results?

Two to four weeks, depending on your program. We let you know when everything is in, then you read the clinicians’ profiles, choose yours, when applicable, and book directly into their calendar.

Is it covered by benefits?

Many extended health benefits plans and health spending accounts cover some or all of the testing and clinician reviews. Check with your provider.
