Vitamin D & Omega Fatty Acids
This blood spot test measures the amount of Vitamin D in your body and Omega-3 fatty acid levels (EPA & DHA) in our tissues.
Vitamin D is linked to a healthy heart, brain, nervous system, bones, skin and mental well-being. Genetics, dark skin colour, age, sun exposure time, and use of sunscreen can affect Vitamin D production.
Learn if your Vitamin D is in optimal range, and if not, supplementation is likely necessary. Testing should be done every Spring and Fall to track your progress.
Omega Fatty Acids are important in maintaining heart, brain, eye, joint and skin health. The amount of EPA + DHA you would need to eat in order to raise your Omega 3 levels depends on your genetics, age, gender, lifestyle and medication use.
Know your level of Omega Fatty Acids to make improvements in your diet. Supplementation may be an option if you don't like to eat foods rich in fatty acids such as fish. Retest every 3-4 months to track your progress.
