A Holistic Nutritionist conducts an integrated health approach to your diet to optimize mental and physical health through diet and lifestyle. Holistic nutrition encompasses the whole individual from a physical, nutritional, emotional, mental, spiritual and environmental perspective, and complies with the principles of healthy food choices as part of a balanced lifestyle with minimal stress. A Holistic Nutritionist’s approach to wellness is to harness the healing power of natural foods and products to address health issues and prevent disease, and to encourage practicing moderation in all areas of life.  A holistic nutritionist can make recommendations for balancing your diet and optimizing your health  by incorporating more whole foods – local and organic where possible, avoiding environmental toxins, and using certain diagnostic tests to reveal your individual nutritional status. Nutritionists provide nutritional counselling to teach you the fundamentals of healthy living and how to self-monitor your diet.

Registered Holistic Nutritionists are professionals trained by the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) through a 1 to 2 year program to learn to successfully educate others about the benefits of good nutrition.
